Is It Really Good Enough?

Kevin Willett says never stop doing the things necessary to grow your business.

I was speaking with a friend this morning and she told me that her son was disappointed because he didn’t make the traveling all star team. When I asked her what happened, she said he thought he was good enough to make the team so he stopped practicing.

That made me think about how easy it is to say things are ‘good enough’. It happened to me last week. My goal was to make 10 calls for the day and I only made 8 and I said “it’s ok, it’s good enough”.  But is it really? Now some days the answer is yes, it really is good enough for a variety reasons. However, when you start settling for less than you are capable of your business may start to struggle.

I encourage you to continue to do the things necessary to grow your business and when you hear yourself say its good enough please think of this tip and ask yourself: is it really?

The Key to Being Successful with Summer Time Networking

Kevin Willett says there is only one thing you need to do to be successful with Summertime Networking.

The key to Summer Time Networking is really simple. Are you ready to find out? You have to make time to attend events, period. The mistake I see people often make is that they stop attending events during the summer months. I understand you have vacation time and you want to relax a bit once the weather turns warm, or you become busy with the kids, but when you don’t attend events people don’t assume you are coaching your daughter’s baseball team, they assume you went out of business. I hear it all the time “hey what’s up with Kevin, I haven’t seen him at one of your events in a while. Is he still in business? “. Please do your best to attend events when you can, but if you do have to cut back, please make sure you are staying in contact with your referral partners. Reach out to them and invite them for coffee or lunch. Think about this with me, you have worked hard to build relationships with people. When you stop attending events it really can be the old cliché of out of sight out of mind. Also, you are opening the door for others to build relationships with your potential referral partners. Don’t let that happen. Do your best to find time to attend or at least stay in touch with your networking contacts.
